Web-based thin client 

ProFinance is a web based, thin client software solution based on multi-tier J2EE technology. As a result, there is no need to install any particular software (ActiveX controls or Applets) on the client-side and therefore remote users can access the application simply using a standard web browser.

Web-based thin client technology enables the system to be deployed to remote users with minimal cost allowing secure access for users over the Internet using a standard web browser 

The roll out of the Front-office systems within the distribution network and for remote mobile users can be achieved much more rapidly and at a lower cost than for alternative client-server technologies.

Remote users can have secure easy access over the Internet or via an Extranet simply using a standard web browser with no need for costly installation and maintenance of software on client machines.

The n-tier design of ProFinance allows considerable flexibility and scalability of the solution across a variety of platforms

N-tier architecture 

The n-tier architecture allows significant flexibility and scalability of the solution and comprises 3 principal layers:

• Web server
• Application server
• Database server

ProFinance has been developed to be platform and database independent and is currently installed on various hardware platforms with an Oracle database.
